Talk to your kids

Talk to your kids
Today I went to a Tea Party; I felt that I was at the right place at the right time. As an activist for my conservative views I have often wondered if the things I said and written about was a view all my own or that of a select few. I know now that there are a lot of people who feel like I do, that government has continued to grow out of proportion and become oppressive instead of helpful. We know the founding fathers with their foresight saw it possible that the government they helped construct could if allowed become oppressive. Have we come to that point? Not openly like waking up and finding the United States under dictatorship, but we ever so slowly have slid into a semi-socialist society. We gave to the government the power to take income tax from our pay, and became complacent with all the monies taken so that we think it a good deal to get some of our money back at tax time. Then we started Government agencies to help the needy and fight poverty, starting a history of punishing the wealthy to give to the poor. Regardless of the fact that even with trillions spent just as many continue to be poor. Now we top it off with the worst of all, the bypassing of the three parts to the government. We now have Czars that are in-charge of portions of government and answerable only to the President, with no oversight by the Congress and little in the way for the people to address grievances. Having seen the crowd this afternoon, people definitely feel that we may very well have taken the last hidden step to socialism! At the end of the meeting there was a question, what do we do next! Call and write your elected officials who are take your money and spend it on pork projects. Get actively involved by committing to spending one hour of a week doing an event, meetings, on-line forum or just talking to your kids about what is going on in America!
